Preaching our way to Florida

Sunday, January 21st we were at Fair Havens Baptist Church in Mufreesboro, Tennessee. This church has supported this ministry for a number of years. The picture to the left is Pastor Steve and Sherry Goforth and Saundra and I. They are in the process of building a new church building. We had a good meeting and great fellowship. Pray for Fair Havens Baptist Church as they preach an old fashion Gospel and reach out for souls. They truly believe the Book and want to see America come back to God.

Leadership Conference in Bowling Green, Kentuky

Saturday, January 20th was a great day for the Home school Leadership Conference. We had some great sessions. The picture to the left is lunch time, home school leaders do know how to eat. Our speakers were great. due to a miscarriage by T.J. Schmidt's wife, Scott Woodruff came in T.J. Schmidt's place. The conference went so well the attendees asked if we could stay a little longer than the meeting was scheduled to go. I feel we answered a lot of needed questions. Thank the Lord for leaders that want to do all they can for homeschooling.

Do not forget to check the News and Update page while you are at the web-site.

Preaching at Campbellsville Baptist Temple

The picture to the left is that of Brother Rudy Stacy. He is the assistant pastor at Campbellsville Baptist Temple where Brother Buddy Gillispie is pastor. They have a great church. I was there last Sunday, January 14th. Brother Buddy's son David who is 42 years old had to have two valves in his heart replaced and Sunday morning Brother Buddy got a call that there was some complications and he drove to Louisville to be with his wife and son. This was certainly the will of the congregation. Please pray for David to have a full recovery. We had great services and it was good to bring a full report to the church on the state of our state and nation.

Reporting and Preaching to one of our supporting churches

On Sunday, January 7th we were with Pastor Charlie Walton at Unity Baptist Church in Flemingsburg, Kentucky. It had been a while since we were there and it was good to have the whole day to preach and visit with the folks. We had a good response at the altar and a wonderful spirit. Pastor Walton has been faithful at Unity Baptist Church for over twenty years. The church had added a beautiful addition since we had been there last.
It is good to be in a church that likes old fashion down home hard preaching. Everyone was so kind. They put us up in a new Bed and Breakfast downtown and we had fellowship with Brother Charlie and his wife Jan, Sunday afternoon.
Pray for Saundra and I as we begin this year. We are scheduled to be in a church every Sunday this year except Father's Day, Mother's Day and Easter. This is going to be an exciting year of serving the Lord.

Special Prayer Breakfast - January 6, 2007

(Top left picture) Representative Jimmy Higdon Representative of the 24th District meeting with one of his constituents. (Top right picture) Representative Mike Harmon of the 54th District meeting with some of the folks at the prayer breakfast.

We had a wonderful time in Lebanon, Kentucky at the annual prayer breakfast for Rep. Jimmy Higdon. This year Rep. Mike Harmon was invited because his district borders and wraps around some of Rep. Higdon's district. We know there was food and it was good but there was some very sweet testimonies and thanksgiving to God for all He has done. Jesus was certainly lifted up and we were reminded of how this country was founded. I am always excited about our public servants when they are not ashamed to speak out for their Lord.

Monday, January 1, 2007

January 2nd begins the 2007 Legislative Session. It is so important that we contact our legislators and let them know that we are praying for them. They need to know that we as God's people are thankful for our nation and the Christian roots that has made it so great.

You can contact your legislator in Frankfort by calling the toll free number at 1-800-372-7181. You can leave a message and they will get back to you. You can also go to the web-site for the Legislative Research Commission at www.lrc.state.ky.us/index.htm at that web-site you can find your legislator and e-mail them from there. You can also find the daily calendar, meetings and lots of important information to help you work with your legislator to make our state the best it can be.

Please pray for the ministry as we begin our prayer breakfasts for the legislators on Wednesday, January 3, 2007. We are asking God to do a mighty work in the hearts of our legislative body.

Praying in the New Year - December 31, 2006 - January 1, 2007

(Left to Right) Bro Henry Westerfield, Sue Westerfield, Saundra Adams and Brother Joe Adams
Happy New Year! We were at Trinity Baptist Temple (TBT) in Corbin, Kentucky new years eve for our annual mission emphasis and praying in the new year. Pastor Henry Westerfield has been the pastor there for well over 20 years. Trinity is a small church with a big mission. We had seven missionary families in a six hour service of fellowship and prayer. TBT runs about 30+ folks and has a missionary program that handles over $30,000.00 in mission projects around the world. What a joy it is to be a part of their mission out-reach. We had testimonies and prayed in the New Year as we have for many years. I hope you are challenged to reach the world by the testimony of this small work with a big heart.
